Terms of Use

Pigment is a free guide to art exhibitions, on the site at pigment.guide and in the Pigment app for iPhone. Using either means you agree to these terms.

Who we are

Pigment is a project of CanvasCandy, run by Emerge Labs, LLC. “We” and “us” below mean Emerge Labs, LLC.

What Pigment is

Pigment lists exhibitions, galleries, studios and events, and helps you plan a visit. We gather the listings from galleries, artists and organisers and from their public pages. We are not the venue, the artist or the organiser, and we do not sell tickets or artwork.

Check before you go

Dates, hours and addresses change, and a listing can be out of date or wrong. Routes and travel times are estimates. Confirm with the venue before you travel, and use your own judgement on the way: follow the road, not the app.

Whose work this is

Artwork, pictures, names and descriptions in a listing belong to the artists, galleries and organisers they come from, and are shown to point you to their shows. Pigment’s own design, text and software belong to us. The map is drawn from OpenStreetMap data, which is its contributors’.

If a listing or picture is yours and you want it changed or taken down, ask us here and we will act on it. To send a copyright complaint, use the same page or write to support@pigment.guide: tell us what the work is, where it appears on Pigment, and how to reach you.

Using Pigment fairly

  • Pigment is for your own, personal use in finding and visiting art.
  • Do not copy the guide in bulk, or load it in a way that gets in the way of other readers.
  • Do not try to break it, get around its limits, or use it to break the law.

Other people’s sites and services

Listings link to sites we do not run, and the app hands directions to Apple Maps. We are not responsible for what is on them or what they do.

Privacy

What Pigment knows about you is set out in the privacy policy.

No warranty

Pigment is provided as it is, free of charge, with no promise that it is accurate, complete or always available. We may change or stop any part of it.

Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage that comes from using Pigment or relying on a listing, including a wasted journey or a show that had closed.

The iPhone app

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or for supporting it. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple’s standard licence for App Store apps.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, where Emerge Labs, LLC is based. Any dispute about them or about Pigment will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Oregon.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Last updated October 10, 2026.
