From Oregon Historical Society
As Crater Lake National Park marks its 125th anniversary, this exhibition showcases 21 original paintings that shaped how Americans viewed this unique part of the American West. These artists’ canvasses sparked a national fascination with the lake — giiwas, or sacred place, to the Klamath Tribes — leading to its naming as Crater Lake and its establishment in 1902 as Oregon’s only national park.
